. Definition of Khamrin Arabic, Khamr is taken from word "Khamara" and that means is "Cover" so Khamr can covers the mind, so that the drunker can't differentiate between true and wrong.
in the saheeh hadeeth of Moslem, prophet Mohammed said: "every the intoxicate is khamr, and every the intoxicate is prohibition". [Juz 6 pages 100 and 101]
and in the shaheeh hadeeth of Bukhari, From Ibnu Umar, he said: Umar has ever speak on Podium of Rasul SAW and he said: "Truly has fallen verses on prohibiton of khamr. and the khamr is made from 5 kinds, there are: wine, date, wheat, sya'ir, and Honey. but khamr is every thing that can destroyed the mind"
and exactly true as what the Mohammed and umar have explained, that the khamr is everything that can destroys and deprives the mind. like drugs, marijuana, morphine, atc.
B. The Khamr prohibition Process
In Holly Qoran the khamr prohibition process was gradually, Allah didn't forbide directly. because so hard to change people's habits.
1. the first time, Qoran explained that there are benefit and sin in khomr, but the sin is bigger than benefit.
They ask to you about Khamr and gambling, say (Mohammed) there are benefit and sin of them, and the sin is bigger than the benefit.. (al-baqorah: 219)
In the book Asbaabun Nuzuul declare a history that: "when the Prophet came to Medina, he found his people very like to drink wine and eat the results of gambling. They asked the Prophet about it, and the prophet can't answere them, and so thet then go down verse Surah Al-Baqarah: 219, They said: "It isn't forbidden to us, and they continued to drink wine and gambling.
2. Qoran forbid the drunk to pray
